Ariens 10pc 8mm Dia Snow Blower

      This offer is for a new and unused 10pc set ( you will get 2 bags w/5pc nut and 5pc bolt in each bag - for total of 10pc nuts and 10pc bolts) of Rotary branded part # 5575  . These  8mm dia. shear bolts are to replace the original Ariens  # 521001 , 52100100 auger shaft shear bolts. 

PLEASE NOTE: Due to gearbox changes that Ariens did after 2007 (when they increased the diameter of the auger shafts) the newer gearboxes need a new shear bolt with a greater distance between the cut "rings" on the shear bolt shaft  - AND these bolts are NOT 5/16" diameter- although they are often referred to as that size - they are actually 8mm in diameter (they are bigger in dia.).  The black colored bolts are for newer models only - they are not for use in older units that actually do need to have the 5/16" pointed bolts in them which are silver and/or gold colored (we also offer those older bolts # 510015 / 916 in our ebay store as well) . If you attempt to install these black colored late model bolts in an older unit you will find they will not fit correctly into the hole in the auger shaft because they are a slightly larger 8mm dia and not 5/16" as the older units did use. If you beat them into the hole you will be lucky to get them out again with out making a problem for yourself .  

If you bugger up the bolt from trying to make it fit we will NOT take back the bolt set - that is why this listing is so specific - if you read the listing you will know if you can use this bolt- or- please email us. 

    We have literally used 1000's  of these bolts over the years and have found that they are a reasonable equivalent to the OEM part at a lesser cost, but they are not made in the USA as the originals would be and although they were produced overseas, I'll bet you couldn't tell this bolt from the OEM one if they were side by side .    They will fit many newer models of Ariens snowblowers, such as 921xxx , 921000 and 926xxx . 926000  models made after 2007 . 

Will these shear bolts fit your unit? Here's a quick "IF" list:    

    If you use a 1/2" size wrench to change your shear bolts, and your bolts are BLACK or SILVER in color- then you may possibly use these bolts .

   If your bolts had a blunt and and are NOT pointed on the tip , you will probably use these bolts .(see pic)

   If the top ring on the bolt is right next to the head - then you may use these bolts- but If the top ring is 1/4" down the shaft from the head of the bolt (see picture) you will NOT use this bolt . 

   if you use a 7/16" wrench ,and that means your bolts are 1/4" dia. , then you have a compact frame model and  you CAN'T use these bolts.
